LiFePO4

It is now 2013-10-13

I am working my a... of, having no time to write, Sorry.

However the battery is running like charm, and i is boring to talk about.  I stopped measuring the cells since it always is the same.
I even run down the battery pack to 80 Vdc with out any effect.
The car is now close to have run 10.000KM and i am happy with the battery.

that's all for now

Best regards to all :)

PS: CONVERT YOUR CAR TO ELECTRIC

charge continues....

Well this time i did not run the battery to the end, but i left it at 124.2 V in standby and this is the measuring method i would use it i the future.

This time i have been driving 160 KM and there was still a lot of power left.  there was more then 10 AH left.

The car has run many short trips, it was only out for 2 longer trips about 30 KM each.

The car is running nice beside from the lots of one head light, the glass simply just dropt out.

I want to order 1 new set of head light for the car, and it should be perfect again.

My wife is very fond of driving the car, she actually love it and especially in the town !

I hope I get time to do a proper logging of battery during driving and charging.

I'm still happy with reslutatet of the batteries, I have to wait to see what happens after 50 cycles, it will be interesting to see how much battery loses per time

Charging Again for the 3th. time

Well this time the car was discharged to 2.75 V X 42 = 115 @ load 50 A this gave around 170 Km.

The charge was to long for the original charger, I had to split the charges it in to 2  do to a charge stop at 178 AH. The charger won't transfer more energy to the cell. One have to take in to account, that the original battery is at 80 AH and the shut down of the charge is probably do to safety of the battery and to avoid any fire. To shut down the charger you just have to unplug and plug it in again.

Well this time it was charge to 3.63 V @ 13 Amp and the after charging was at 3.66 V @ 5 Amp
That gave 182 AH and I expect to run 180 - 190 Km if it is done over 3 to 4 days.

All in all I am happy :-) whit the result.

Hi All

I have a Renault Clio Electrick I have rebuilt a little bit.
I will start by saying thank you to

Jack Rickard
Thanks for showing how to tackle LieFpo4 cells you do it with an open mind and heart. It's great that so many EV enthusiasts from around the world gather in one place because of you Jack. This you can be extremely proud of.

Per Eklund
Thank you for the fine tweaks you've given me.

Well.... I have installt the battery in the car however I have only tried to discharge the pack once and it gave me 135 KM and i am on the second charge and is is appears to be around 150 KM
The car have a small issue, the accessory battery is being charged by the main pack when the car is parked. That is using around 1 - 2 AH per day.

The driving pattern is town and som on the higway.  The car have regenativ braking sow it is a problem to keep the braking disc clean.

Battey Pack Left Front

The wire is connected to thermo switch that will brake down at 112 °C  to indicate a bad connection.

The small wires is for measuring the voltaget on each cell.
The wire is shielded for EMF.

Insulation

Foam

Aluminium Lid

Battery Pack Rear

All in all there is 42 Cells @ 160 AH
End discharging 121.8 V
End charging is 153.3 V

I hope I will get the time to write som mor in her.
